I propose this image as a good example of socio ecological thinking in urban design, because this project, in France second biggest city, gather various kind of nature and natural processes that improved at the same time the ecological assets of the area and the life quality. The choice made was to use a differentiated management to improve biodiversity. The soil artificialization was minimized and water management was a big deal because it is a region plagued by flooding. The park is made for everyone and open to associations and if one part is really well organized and planned, one other is much wilder with trees. Urban planners were also careful not to split the city in two and planned several paths through the park.
